"I care not what others think of what I do, but I care very much about what I think of what I do! That is character!" -Theodore Roosevelt
From the previous post, you all know that, growing up, we had two toilets meant for everyone in the compound of about 30 families; but I never gave a clue about how the toilet looked it, it was pit latrine. #cover nose, spit out
Both toilets, had no seat, we had to set the hole perfectly for "it" to get in, at times we younger ones, used the potty popularly called 'poh'
One truth that thought me is that, having a place you can literally take a shit and empty everything inside you is what matters most at such a time.
You see, the toilet is a sacred place apart from the fact it makes you feel lighter, it reduces all the tension in your body, it does relaxes and for some few minutes for those that are like me, it becomes a place to do your thinking, I get some of my greatest mental work done there.
However there were times when the toilet that gave us the greatest comfort started becoming a menace; it was caused us pain, the influx of cockroach in the house - all of the house, I mean, they messed up our peaceful live and the kitchen wasn't spared.
Not too long, someone in the house noticed and suggested that we always cover that hole with a tray, it worked like magic. Then I noticed, a smart person can make a difference.
Take a closer look, you'll see that the toilet is a perfect example of most of us; when people see us they like us, they want to be around us 'cause of the comfort we give. Things seem great when we are beside them, the confidence we elude that makes people feel good and happy around us.
It is therefore sad when we don't take care of the things inside us our character flaws which could make us stink, like the Yoruba proverb said our character is like flames you could cover it but it would surely come out.
You see just because of our flaws we have lost a lot of deals and relationships in the past; we go on pointing accusing fingers saying people did you wrong (don't get me wrong there are bad people) but I love the way the good book put it "try removing the log from your own eyes before removing the speck from another's", and besides, it is pointless to worry about something that is out of your control when you the only thing you can change, control and make better is you.
"No change of circumstances can repair a defect of character." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The literal meaning of choice is " an option, a decision; an opportunity to choose or select something".It could also mean selection or preference; that which is chosen or decided; the outcome of a decision.
We can't control everything but one thing we can control are our choices. You have the right and ability to choose your thoughts, actions, behaviors and habits.
Every choice we make throughout our day brings us further or closer to the health, relationships, level of financial success and lifestyle we desire.
Every choice we make, opens the door to a new way of thinking, acting, and behaving or pulls us further into an old belief system, pattern or way of living that no longer serves. It is a decision to move forward or stay behind.
Each day we make hundreds of choices, for example, what to wear or eat, how we care for our bodies, how we nurture ourselves and also those we love.
For most people, most of these choices are habitual, we fail to recognize them because we don't realize we are making them.
If your daily choices often involve tasks that leaves you unsatisfied, unfulfilled, unproductive and unrewarded, look instead for simple activities that allows you express yourself, your creativity and gives you a sense of accomplishment. Take control of your stress levels, notice and monitor your attitude, thoughts, and feelings.
Seek out opportunities, better deals in your businesses and have more successful results.
Make daily choices to fully and positively express love, support and friendship even intimacy. It will allow your relationships to become healthier over time.
Staying active physically & mentally is the key to your overall fitness and wellness. Don't take a wrong step, try making the right choice and decision.

Searching For the Displaced
Studying at a government owned university in Nigeria is an ironically lovely experience. There is an anomalous struggle and strife for knowledge, as well as millions of distractions; learning and living in dilapidated structures, tutelage from frustrated lecturers, incessant strike actions, moribund learning facilities and some other social problems.
Do you believe in Nigeria?
As you read this, I am in one of Nigeria’s prestigious University,
Sitting at the right side of a post-graduate room
At the right wing of a post-graduate hall listening with my left ear.
It’s a conglomerate of post-graduate students
Who should be reading,
As with the sadly and truly standard of power,
There’s no light so they are vainly ‘gisting’.
There’s no light so they are vainly ‘gisting’.
The door keeps oscillating creakily about its hinges
With slams and bangs as some walk in and out of the room;
Nonetheless, numerically, we are not less than half a dozen.
Nonetheless, numerically, we are not less than half a dozen.
Guess what the conversation about? Nigeria!
I can hardly hear anything outside this frenzied noise
I can hardly hear anything outside this frenzied noise
And what I can make of all these
Is the question “is there hope for Nigeria?”, or should I say, “…Nigerians!”
The religious soppiness, tribal brawls, partisan interests,
The religious soppiness, tribal brawls, partisan interests,
Societal compulsions, et al, which surrounds
Their various opinion storms my mental sanity- badly!
The rowdy communique loosely projects that they do NOT belief in Nigeria (which is actually no problem)
I’m only left to wonder why they pay this serious sacrifices
Of dillydallying in the squally experiences
Of ‘school’ without a hope of tomorrow,
Not even a validity in the unseen credentials
That keeps them reading under faints shadows
Of phone torchlight within mosquito infested rooms.
I truly agree with them that Nigeria is in a bad, no, scratch that, in a very bad shape.
I cannot write beyond this point (I don’t wish too either),
But then, do you believe in Nigeria?

In the 50s, it was your right to get a right job,
if your grades were alright, just alright.
At the turn of two decades, it became a privilege
and every one was considered less-privileged,
you didn't have to know an assistant or a head.
As the 1990s were packing her panties,
a good grade could not guarantee a good job,
but an Average jobs,
that's even if you know a Steve Jobs
It ironic that today, they still tell you and I,
go to school,
Stay in school,
study hard,
so you'll get good grades and good jobs.
*SMH, SMH*
Those who have gone ahead of you are asking, which jobs?.
If the holy book was right where
it wrote one will chase a thousand while two; ten thousand,
Then it should be right to write on the table of our hearts
That if one unemployed will make a thousand dollars,
then two will make ten thousand dollars
Let's team up, let's create our tomorrow!
